Getting together with local community for Christmas
might be better than traveling to be with traditional families that are
spread out all over the world.

One can define the "S" word several ways.
Snow is one word starting with S. "White Christmas" may be the most
popular Christmas song, but it's writers didn't have the Denver Airport
in mind. Nor did they have I-5 on the Sunday just after Thanksgiving
where I hear that it took 5 hours for some folks to get from Burlington
Then there is the whole issue of family feuds and also whether gay people are still in the closet with their birth families.
In many cases, traditional family gatherings
are good, but it is nice to know there are alternatives. Alternative
options like, you don't have to stay with family members. I am sure there
are cheap hotels where ever you are traveling to. Stay at a hotel and be
pampered! You could use the stress free environment, especially if your
holiday excursions are lasting a few days and few dinners.
Also the Internet makes it easier to stay
in touch with far flung friends and relatives.
