Remake of telescope mirror on display at Corning Glass Museum
The Hubble isn't the first telescope to suffer a defective
mirror in its early days. When the giant observatory on Palomar Mountain
was built, back in the 1940s, its first mirror had a crack. Another
one was made. The first mirror is now on display at the Corning Museum
of Glass in upstate New York. Seen during my second
bicycle trip across USA.
