scroll down It looked like a graduation class as the tourists put on blue caps and gowns. The gowns were rain coats to protect them from the spray. The boat headed up to the base of the falls, caught the spray and then headed back to the dock. This is the so called "Punch Bowl" part of the falls visible from the Canadian side. Niagara Falls is created as water leaving the Great Lakes region tumbles over the Niagara Escarpment.
