| All through the 1980s, Americans worried that the Russians were going to invade. Actually, they had already "been there and done that." In the 1840s, the Russians claimed Alaska and the west coast of what is now USA down as far as Fort Ross, CA. They left after finding it wasn't profitable. Seen on my bike tour in the late 1980s. |
