| On second thought,
let's try putting the road a bit farther from the cliff.
Much of California Highway 1 is a difficult ride. Steep winding grades, some parts with poor shoulder and a bit more traffic than I remembered from earlier years. Every little river that comes to the ocean carves its own canyon. The road winds down, crosses a bridge and then climbs back out just to wind down again to the next gully. Most of the drivers are courteous. They had better not be in too big a hurry as so many curves are posted for 15 mph. Ocean vistas are spectacular, but one can almost get tired of seeing the ocean. |
