Streetlights in much of San Diego County are a special hue of sodium Vapor.  This is to cut down on light pollution at the nearby Palomar Mountain Observatory.  The telescope is set to ignore that color. 

I was hoping to get to the Observatory, but it was too far off the route.

Another two motel stays in San Diego area and it was time to get ready for train ride back to Bellingham.

Someone suggested I take a little ferry across San Diego Harbor.  Then "ride the Silver Strand Bikeway" down west side of San Diego Bay toward Mexican border.  It saved going through traffic on east side of bay.
