Instead of taking I-90 over Snoqualmie Pass, I headed for the Iron Horse Tail bike path.  It follows the old Milwaukee Road rail bed across much of Wasjington Statetate.  Some of the trail is unfinished, but it isn't too bad between Lake Easton State Park, west of Ellensburg, and North Bend, east of Seattle.  Best of all is the west section starting with a two mile long tunnel under Snoqualmie Pass.  Picture shows a shorter tunnel east of Lake Keechelus.

Free trail side camping along the Iron Horse east of North Bend, Washington.

From end of one of the trestles.
